Estate, Gorham, sterling silver 6 piece heavy floral pattern coffee tea service set, #1140.
This set was obviously very important to the family, as there are two different sets of monograms on each piece, except for the hot water pot on stand. I think both will cover any initial that you need.
Just to cover ourselves, this set is in really nice condition, having only a few minor, minor, minor dents and scratches on the bottoms, as normal. Only two dents are obvious. One is on the bottom of the teapot, which can be taken out. Impossible to see in a photo; however, we photographed the bottom of that piece, the one with the Gorham mark. The other dent is in the side of the burner.
All the 6 pieces are marked with the Gorham marks, sterling, #1140. The hot water stand is not marked, except for a number 4963 in tiny, tiny numbers on the inside frame, (I almost couldn't make it out, it is so small); however, it matches the hot water pot and both the stand and the burner test out as sterling.
This set weighs 9.5 regular pounds or about 138 troy ounces. I do not know the pattern; however, it is a heavier than normal set for today and has a gorgeous floral pattern and the early heat wafers in the handles of the pots.
The pieces measure:
Hot water pot: 12 1/2" high, 7 1/4" diameter, 9 3/4" spout to handle.
Coffee pot: 7 1/4" tall, 5 1/4" diameter, 9 3/4" spout to handle.
Teapot: 5 3/4" high, 5 3/4" diameter, 9 3/4" spout to handle.
Two handed covered sugar: 5" high, 5" diameter, 8 1/4" handle to handle.
