Erte was born Romain de Tirtoff in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1892.
At the age of 18 he moved to Paris and used the named Erte, which came from the French pronunciation of his initials R and T.
He was a widely recognized artist in the 1920's for his work with Harper's Bizarre and many other publications and was awarded the title of Officer of Arts and Letters in 1976 and the Medaille de Vermeil de la Ville de Paris in 1982.
His works are in many museums around the world and he worked right up to the end of his life.
This gorgeous serigraph is in wonderful condition and the matting and framing is of the highest quality.
