Beautiful Van Briggle stylized leaf bowl in ming blue from the mid-20th Century.

Circa Mid-1930's to Mid-1940's.

On the base is the Van Briggle logo, Van Briggle, Colo Spgs., 11, which is the finishers number.

The bowl measures 3" tall, about 6 3/8" wide at the widest point and the opening is about 4 3/8".
Features beautiful stylized leaf designs continuing around with a gorgeous ming blue glaze finish.

Artus Van Briggle was born in 1869 and passed away from tuberculosis at a very young age in 1904. He was an American artist of Dutch descent and was world renown in Europe as a painter and received highest honors for his works. In 1899 he left Rookwood where he was a celebrated artist and in 1901 he opened Van Briggle. He created and perfected satin matte glazes in beautiful colors, ie:matte blue glaze. His media consisted of earth clays, feldspars, oxides and the orange flames from a kiln. His creations were that of beauty, elegance and nature blended into one. His works are still highly collectible and are widely sought after by collectors.

The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, hairlines or cracks, kiln effects and normal wear due to age and use.
