Just a great artistic find. A great George bust of a distinguished gentleman done by Georges Geefs in 1895. Geefs is the sculptor who did the monumental sculpture of the Roman Gladiator in front of the De Young Museum in San Francisco, California.
This bronze has great original patina and is life size. The detail of the bust is excellent and the marble base conforms nice with the bust. The figural marble is rouge and cream.
Weighs 75 pounds and measures 30" tall with the base, 19 1/2" wide and 13" deep.
A. F. Vanaerschodt Foundry of Brussels is a premiere bronze foundry producing only the finest Belgium artists' works. They are recognized as one of the Worlds leading bell foundry's in the world. To find a work of art from this foundry is a rarity.
Estate, original Franz Xavier Bergman, 1861-1936, cold painted bronze sculpture of an Arab praying on an oriental rug.
Measuring 6" x 5 1/2" by 5 1/4" tall.
It has the original stamped bag mark on the bottom, as it should be.
He is kneeling on the rug with his shoes and staff on his side. It has overall normal antique wear to the paint.
These originals are very hard to find. One like this sold at Skinner's in 2011 for $3675.00 with the buyers' premium, lot #990. A fun, beautiful, good investment piece!!!

Estate, sweet, Art Nouveau, hand carved marble bust sculpture.
A nice size measuring 10 1/2" tall by by 6 1/2 " by 4".
It is in great condition, having no cracks or repairs, just normal scuffing from age here and there.

Gorgeous pair of hand carved, Blackamoor, marble busts.
Circa 1890. One measures 33" tall and the other measures 31" tall.
Features a gentleman and woman wearing beautifully detailed turbans and robes composed of variegated marble. The faces are composed of black marble and they are seated on socle pedestal bases.
This pair of high quality busts are in wonderful condition for the period, wear and minor chips commensurate with age and use.
As stated, the details in the busts are just exquisite and they are ready to add elegance to any style home or study. The carvings are very intricate and are just wonderful! One can definitely tell they were done by a very skilled hand/craftsman.

Gorgeous bronze sculpture by world renowned artist Erte (Romain De Tirtoff) of Fantasia. Circa 1988.
The detail in this bronze is exceptional, especially the little dainty butterflies throughout. She is hand signed and numbered 301/375. This originally appeared as a Harper's Bazaar cover.
We do have the certificate of authenticity and the Estate originally paid $13,000.
Measures 20 3/4" high and weighs 18.5 pounds.
Erte was born Romain de Tirtoff in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1892.
At the age of 18 he moved to Paris and used the named Erte, which came from the French pronunciation of his initials R and T.
He was a widely recognized artist in the 1920's for his work with Harper's Bizarre and many other publications and was awarded the title of Officer of Arts and Letters in 1976 and the Medaille de Vermeil de la Ville de Paris in 1982.
His works are in many museums around the world and he worked right up to the end of his life.
This gorgeous bronze is in wonderful condition.

Sweet, high quality, beautifully carved, soapstone sculpture of a mother and child.
Measures 14" tall and weighs 57 pounds.
This sculpture is signed on the base, R P, in block letters.
The soapstone graining is exquisite, being finely and professionally carved with the smoothest lines and wonderful detail.
The Estate was told that this piece was exhibited in a Newport, Rhode Island gallery with the artist having affiliations in Arizona. Someone out there may be happy to share the name and more information on this talented artist.
A beautiful piece, which is in fine condition, having no chips, cracks or repairs. It does have a few minor scratches mainly in the arm as the photos show.

It is in nice condition, having the normal distressing due to age. An extremely hard piece of Americana to find.
