Estate, rare, compensating museum quality folk art Vermont decoy.
One found similar on display at the Shelburne Museum in Vermont in their new building, Premier collection.
Measures 15" wide x 42" long x 20" tall.
Circa about 1920's and retaining its original paint in black and white. A great primitive item with aquatic significance. A great decorative item in addition to being a folk art or decoy collectors piece.
Estate, absolutely fabulous 21" full bodied folk art wooden Rooster sculpture, having its original paint, hand carved, from the 1860 period.
Try to find another one this special!! Weighing 10 pounds, 15" long and 6" wide, it is in nice original condition.
The photos show age cracks and losses, etc. The rooster retaining more than 85% of its original paint, is dry, which could be sprayed with a conservative dry fixative.
Just a fabulous piece that cannot be found again, and some would market it for a lot higher price than we have.
