Antique Russian Icon of The Old Testament Trinity ~ Late 19th Century

Beautiful antique Russian Icon of The Old Testament Trinity.

Circa 1890 and measures 17 1/2" high x 13 3/4" long x 1 1/4" depth.

It is depicting the three angels who visited the Patriarch Abraham at the Oak of Mamre (Genesis 18) on a wood panel. Abraham is on his knees in front of a table serving the 3-winged angels while his wife, Sarah, is pictured in the background looking on from their home at the Oak of Mamre.  The inscription at the upper margin identifies the subject as the SVYATAYA TROITSA (The Holy Trinity).

The icon is in good condition, wear commensurate with age and is in untouched, original condition.  It is all hand painted with beautiful colors done in gorgeous detail.  On the back of the panel there is some letters and the #42 engraved in the wood.  Please review photographs thoroughly.

This piece would look absolutely stunning in any setting.  Would be a great addition for any religious or icon collector.  Enjoy!!!
