Ryszard Ramski, noted Poland glass artist began his career as an engraver to the Julia glassworks in Szklarska Poreba, Poland. As a young apprentice, he was chosen to work on glass tablesets for people such as: Reza Pahlavi (then the Shah of Iran) and Charles de Gaulle. Ramski received numerous awards for his works and was commissioned on several occasions by the Polish Government to create hand blown and engraved glass productions. His stunning works are world renown and are exhibited in the National Museum of Art in Warsaw and the Sobieski Museum in Vienna, Austria.

Ramski is known for doing cameo glass, which not only is very demanding, but also takes in a great deal of craftmanship. He incorporates his works with acid baths and hand tools, which he then carefully etches away the outlying surface areas to reveal a beautiful raised pattern. It is then reheated to further draw color from the glass and sometimes is returned for additional etching. Details are then engraved and occasionally he will use enamels for added artistry to complete the final design in shallow relief. The final result is rich in color and contrast and each piece bears the personal signature of the artist. (Information credited to Ramski's website, Ramski Art Glass).

It is beautifully detailed and is free of any flea bites, chips or marks.

A wonderful addition for any art glass collector!
