Beautiful, original George II, London sterling silver, clawfoot, gadrooned inkwell or inkstand.

Measures 10 1/4" x 6 3/4" and is from the 1755 period.   

George ll, George Augustus (1683-1760) was King of Great Britain and elector of Hanover from 1727 to 1760 and was also called marquess and duke of Cambridge.

Weighing approximately 30 troy ounces, it is in nice condition, have one minor relief 1/2" mark in one pen tray, shown in the next to last photo and a 1/4-inch relief upward minor dent shown in the last photo, commensurate with the age of this piece.  The 3 cut glass inserts are in nice condition.
