Gorgeous, gouache pastel painting by noted artist, Josef Presser and titled, "Heloise".

The image measures 11 3/8" x 17 1/2", the inside of matting measures 21 5/16" x 17 9/16" and the frame measures 32 3/4" x 30".

The painting features a figurative expression with his signature near the bottom left.

Josef Presser was born in Lublin, Poland in 1907 and passed away in Paris, France in 1967. He is known for doing figurative expression and landscape paintings. He did a lot of portraits expressing the downs and urgency of the Great Depression when he moved back to America in 1931. His beautiful works are showcased in many noted museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Josef studied art and was the youngest student to ever be accepted into the Boston Museum School of Art back in 1921. In the mid-1930's he moved to New York City where he met and married New York City artist, Agnes Hart. They lived and worked together in a loft over 14th Street at Union Square. To this day, he is considered to some of the Museum art community, as one of the most gifted artists of all time and some will compare his work to Picasso.
