Greyhound Bronzed Clovis Edmond Masson Mixed Metal Sculpture Cast by Le Verrier Paris

Gorgeous pair of Art Deco bronzed greyhound dogs by noted French animal sculptor, Clovis Edmond Masson, 1838 - 1913 and casted by the noted French foundry of Le Verrier Paris France.

Circa 1925.

The sculpture with the base measures 21 1/2" tall and base measures 23" long x 9" wide. This beauty weighs a total weight of 79.5 pounds.

Features a pair of gorgeous greyhounds done in mixed metals. They are set on a peach tone stone base. Both greyhounds have a foundry mark where the sculptures part is, that sets into the stone, a circle, which reads Le Verrier Paris.

Clovis Masson, 1838 - 1913, is a French sculptor most noted for his animal sculptures. He had exhibits in Paris Salon till 1881 and guided over 50 works until 1909. Clovis was one of the leaders of the Equestrian statue, which is a tribute to King Rama V and is located on the Royal Plaza in front of The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall in Bangkok.

Le Verrier is sought after for his finely cast objects of his fine mixed metals, which have incredible detail. He casted objects for only his artist friends and special commissions.

This sculpture is in wonderful condition.
