Ink well with insert: Measures 2 1/2" high at the highest point x 4 1/2" wide at the widest point and marked, A.M.W. Newark, N.J. OO
Stamp holder: Measures 7/8" high x 4 3/4" long x 2 1/4" deep and is marked, A.M.W. Newark, N.J. OO
Letter opener, Measures 9" long x 1/4" wide at the widest point and 1/8" thick at the thickest point
Pen tray holder, Measures 1/2" high x 9 13/16" long x 2 7/8" deep and is marked, OO A.M.W. Newark, N.J.
Ink blotter, Measures 2 1/2" high x 4 3/8" long x 3 3/4" deep

L.V. Aronson(Louis Vincent Aronson) was born in New York City in 1869 and passed away in New Jersey in 1940. He was known as an American inventor, Industrialist, philanthropist, draftsman and designer.

Aronson graduated from school at the age of 12 and entered New York Technical School where he pursued metallurgy, metal working and mechanical drawing, as well as excelled in chemistry. He instructed many inventions including different types of toys for children, i.e.: sparking guns, spinning tops, pinwheels, hand held toys, etc. He also invented different types of matches, i.e.: non-toxic match, wind match, birds eye/kitchen match, as well as bomb fuses, which he donated to the US Government during WWI, igniting devices and much more. He received the prestigious distinguished service certificate from President Wilson and the War Department. In 1912 he became Mayor of Newark, Jersey.

His company, The Art Metal Works, was producing high quality lamps, bookends, statues, decorative items such as desk sets and much much more. Truly beautiful and gorgeous pieces that are highly sought after still today due to the detail in his works.
