Estate, original Paul Jenkins Acrylic on canvas painting, in semi high relief, titled "Twining".
Measuring 16 1/2” by 9 3/8” including the frame, this a beautiful, nice size painting, signed and dated 1983. The frame is 1 3/8” deep and a 1/4 inch on the front.
Paul Jenkins was born in Kansas City in 1923 and moved to Paris in 1953, an abstract painter of the New York school.
Along with the painting is a fabulous book on Jenkins discussions with Jean Cassou with Jenkin's aims and technique of his art.
What is great is that there is a beautiful hand done drawing of a parrot by Paul Jenkins, signed inscribed to the person that he gave the book to, "wish you every happiness", Paul. May 8, 1983. The book is 9 x 8 inches with a small tear in the dust jacket on the let top corner. The book cover has some staining on both covers. It was published by Harry N. Abrams, Inc., New York, Copyright 1963 in Germany by Verlay Gerd Hatje, Stattgart and has 9 color plates and 31 Monochrome plates.
