Noted Polish/American artist (1909-1992). Polia Pillin was a Polish artist and potter known for her distinctive art potter pieces. She whimsically painted images of birds, horses, and women on her pieces. She was born in Poland in 1909 and immigrated to the United States when she was 15. Studying painting and sculpture, she met her husband William Pillin. They moved to Los Angeles in 1948 where she opened her pottery studio.
