Roseville Imperial I Early 20th Century Handled Bowl
Beautiful Roseville early 20th Century Imperial I handled bowl in green and brown.
The bowl measures 2 1/8" tall, 9 1/8" x 8 7/16" from handle to handle. Imperial I did not have a mark.
After 1900 when the Rozane art line was added to the commercial wares already in production, the company established a system of identification using a number code, which indicated the particular type of ware that was being produced. Each number within the series represented a shape. After 1904, the numbers did not physically appear on the ware; however, it did resurface in the mid 1930's when the cast indented or impressed mark was adapted for use.
Imperial I was produced in 1916.
Features a pretzel-twisted vine and stylized grape leaves decorated rough textured background in green and brown. The styling of the modeling is rather crude.
This gorgeous piece is in wonderful condition with no chips, hairlines or repairs.
This bowl is absolutely gorgeous and would grace any breakfast room well with an array of fruits or vegetables. A great addition for any Roseville or pottery collector.
