Hard to find, hard covered book, 1765 Domenico Angelo, The school of Fencing.
The book is a General Explanation of the principal attitudes and positions to the Art Dedicated to their Royal Highnesses, The Duke of Gloucester and Prince Henry - Frederic by Mr. Angelo. London, printed for S. Hooper at Ceasar's Head, the East Corner of the New Church in the Strand. MDCCLXV.
Measuring a nice size of 12” x 19”, this rare book contains 47 plates, all dated 1763 engravings by Ryland Sculp., Hall Sculp, Chamber Sculp, Grignior Sculp. Each engraving having J Gwyn Delin on the very lower left and below each one is written, Published according to Act of Parliament, Feb. 1763.
In good, used condition, the front board is separated; however, the rest of the binding being tight. The front cover and the first front paper have staining; however the rest is clean, with the paper edges having the normal wear and coloring from age, as shown in the photos.
