Estate unusual Austrian Sterling Silver fitted cased flatware set in a beautiful tooled leather fitted box, having the original interior and showing traces of the original line gold work on the tooling.
The cased set consists of a fabulous 14” long ladle, a 9” ladle, 6 each of 9 1/2 “ spoons, 6 1/2” teaspoons, 8 1/2” steel bladed forks, 10” steel bladed knives and 4” knife rests. They are all in nice condition, some minor scratches here and there. (One of the 6 knife rests is missing one prong.) The pieces are from the 1820 to the 1840 period.
Measuring about 16” by 5 1/2” high by 8” deep, the box is in nice condition having Louis XVl style handles. It has a key with it, however we cannot get it to work.
