Beautiful Chinese, 16th Century, Late Ming Period, Qingbai Covered Box - Ship Wreck
Beautiful Chinese, 16th Century, late Ming period, Qingbai glazed covered box.
Circa, late Ming Dynasty.
Looks to feature snake designs on top of the box.
The measurements are: Covered box: About 2 1/8" tall, Lid (Top): 3 1/2" in diameter at the widest point, Bottom box: 3 1/2" in diameter at the widest point, Base ring: About 2 1/16" in diameter at the widest point.
It is in unusually fine condition for its age and is of the period.
The beautiful box is in nice condition and has the normal encrustation. There is wear to the glaze inside, wear to the outside on the snake design and some minor chips, which you would expect on pieces found from shipwrecks.
This would definitely be a great addition for any Asian collector and would accent any mantle or hutch well. A great piece of history. Enjoy!!
