Beautiful Pair of Encaustic Tiling Company Framed Nurse Tiles from Late 19th Century

Beautiful pair of signed, Encaustic Tiling Company, Zanesville, Ohio, nurse tiles from the late 19th Century.

Circa 1875.

The tiles measure as follows:

One tile:
Frame: 13 1/8" tall x 13 1/8" wide x 13/16" deep.
Tile: 8 3/4" tall x 8 5/8" wide
Inside the border: 7 3/8" tall x 7 3/8" wide

Second tile:
Frame: 13 1/2" tall x 13 1/2" wide x 13/16" deep
Tile: 9" tall x 9" wide
7 11/16" tall and 7 11/16" wide

The two tiles feature beautiful nurses wearing the early gowns, caps and crosses in gorgoues embossed profiles.

The tiles are in beautiful condition featuring the normal crazing having no cracks, repairs or hairlines.
