Beautiful, fine pair of low relief bust tiles from the J & J G Low Art Tile Works.
Circa 1880 and they measure 16 1/2” square with the original frames and the tiles measure 8” square.
One has a crazing mark in the glaze on one side about an 3/4” area.
J & J G Low produced very high quality earthenware pictorial tiles between 1877 and 1907 and were located in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
They are of a gent and a lady in a beautiful shade of green. Enjoy!!!
