We have the privilege of offering you this hard to find, untouched Civil War era signal cannon, taken after the Civil War by General Peck (1843-1918).

Major General Peck was a Vermont Civil War Officer who received the Medal of Honor for gallantry in the Battle of Newport Barracks in 1864.  He was the Adjutant General of the Vermont National Guard.   Major Peck proudly carried this cannon with him to various G. A. R. and other fraternal events until about 1910.

This cannon was held by General Peck's family until 1950 and had been held in a private collection for over 70 years.

The cannon is in original untouched condition, all original wheels, carriage and robin's egg blue stenciling.  The carriage has some losses and is very restorable, if one wished, or it could continue to be displayed as it has been, as it is.

The cannon is 26" long, a 1 1/2" bore with the carriage measuring 52" x 32" x 28." It weighs about 350 pounds.

A very rare item to find these days.
