Beautiful Dimitri Haralamb Chiparus bronze sculpture some have titled Twins, I think they look like lovers. I'm going to call them "The Lovers".

What a gorgeous piece, it is bronze with handsome verdigris patina with beautiful gold highlighting.  It measures 16” long, 13 1/2” high and 8” deep.

Demetre Haralamb Chiparus was also known as Dumitru Chiparus born in 1886 in Dorohoi, Romania and died in Paris, France in 1947.   He was an Art Deco era sculptor living and working in Paris.    Chiparus sent out his designs to different foundries, having other studios handling the sales, making profits on each one.   This one is a fine example of the standard that Chiparus held for all the foundries in his day, having the finest of detailing with no flaws in the casting.   He would not let one out without his approval.  You will not find bubbling or flaws in the castings that he approved.

This handsome piece has to be from the same foundry as the one sold at William Jenack's Auctions on June 12, 2016, lot number 128, having the same base, selling for $3500.00 plus buyers premium, with an estimate of $5000.00 to 8000.00.

There is one flat piece of black flat marble missing on the back, easily replaces and has minor, minor chips on the top of the marble.  Not really enough to mention or be seen easily.
