Beautiful early 20th Century Rookwood mum ewer, artist signed by Irene Bishop, shape #864.
Circa 1900. To represent the year 1887, one flame point was placed above the RP mark. Another flame point was added for each year until there were fourteen flame points for the year, 1900.
Measures 6 3/4" tall.
Decorated by artist IB, Irene Bishop. You will see the artists signature impressed, as well as the shape #864 and the Rookwood mark impressed on the base.
Features beautiful mums on the front part of the ewer in gorgeous colors of brown and was done with a standard glaze.
Irene Bishop, 1880 - 1925, was born in Colorado Springs. She belonged to the Art Students League and CAA at Rookwood from 1900 - 1907. She married Edward T Hurley on August 16, 1907. She later painted miniatures, exhibited in New York and Philadelphia and was a charter member of the Woman's Art Club and passed away in Cincinnati in 1925.
The ewer is in nice condition.
This gorgeous ewer would grace any Country kitchen well. A great addition for any pottery or Rookwood collector.
